The score uses six separate government positions. UK advice receives 30%, Canada 20%, Austria and Germany 15% each, New Zealand 12%, and Australia 8%. Available weights are rebalanced only when a ministry has no destination record.

How the consensus is calculated
Each ministry’s wording is first converted to a common severity scale from 1 to 4. Regional warnings use intermediate values, so they do not falsely become nationwide warnings.

Formula: score = 100 − ((weighted severity − 1) ÷ 3 × 90). Missing records are excluded and the remaining weights are proportionally rebalanced. They are never treated as a safe vote.

Website access and self-managed hosting
GoAware is operated on a self-managed rented server. It does not use analytics, advertising trackers, contact forms, marketing cookies, remote fonts or embedded social-media content.
To deliver and secure the website, the server processes technically necessary connection data, which may include IP address, date and time, requested file, referrer, user agent and error or security information. The legal basis is the legitimate interest in secure, stable delivery and abuse prevention under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Routine access logs should be automatically deleted after no more than 14 days; security-related records may be retained longer where necessary to investigate an incident or meet legal obligations.
The rented infrastructure provider processes connection data on the operator’s behalf as a technical hosting service. Before publication, the operator must ensure an Article 28 GDPR processing agreement is in place where required, confirm the server location and configure the stated log-retention period.
Email contact
If you contact the operator by email, your address, message and supplied information are processed only to respond to and document the request.
